Fellow baseball fans, we have certainly come a long way from 2012. Back then we didn’t even have a bat or a baseball. But thanks to good people like Brandon Weber III (where are you) who believed in what ABL was all about – here we are. Our first book will be out in March 2026, followed by Book Two, same concept for ages 6–8, due to come out in the Spring of 2026. Along the way maybe a couple of surprises like an invention or two, an additional book and maybe even a movie. All leads up to having our own fields and that is going to be a sight to be seen.
Baseball is a thinking game
Trust your instincts, think the game through and play with heart.
We believe baseball is more than just a sport — it’s about teamwork, character and moments that last a lifetime, both on and off the field.
Austin Baseball League was formed to help kids stay in school by playing baseball.
Help kids and adults learn how to play the game and for the right reasons. To help çoach players from an early age, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 to become not just good players, but smart players using Intuition and Intellectual ways of seeing baseball. All while helping to establish integrity, hard work, honesty and become productive members of society.
Four brothers who played together with some friends in HS. So they formed a team, The Tacos, to play in our league. They were stacked with pitchers, fielders and everyone could hit or pitch. Needless to say they were unbeaten for a few years till some of our other teams raised their game. Then some moved, got married and had kids, but their record at that point was like 93 wins and 4 maybe 5 losses and were well known throughout Central Texas. It was a pleasure having The Tacos in my league. But this Commish also played with them and against the team. And when I was on the losing team and as we shook each other’s hands this here Commish would say, “You guys are lucky and of course someone would always ask why. And my response was, “because we don’t get hot till the 5th inning”. Love you guys.

The Coach who listens is always receptive to learning the game of baseball to its highest level and this includes listening to their players

From First Chance to the Mound — Michael Chavez Michael’s mother reached out to us because Michael wanted a real chance to play baseball. He could not get the time of day from his high school coach, but he still wanted to learn, work and prove himself. Michael told us he could not afford cleats, so we bought them for him and helped him get started. He was then trained by Brandon Weber III, our Assistant Commissioner, who worked with him in learning the game, improving his conditioning and developing his ability on the field. Through hard work, discipline and coaching, Michael grew into a strong left-handed pitcher and first baseman. His progress eventually helped him earn a scholarship to Ranger Junior College in Texas. This is what Austin Baseball League is all about — giving players a chance, helping them grow and opening doors through baseball.
